How Much Freezer Space Do You Need?

This is one of the most-asked questions we receive! And for good reason! You don’t want to order a large quantity of beef and not have enough room to store it!

A good rule of thumb is to have about one cubic foot per 30 pounds of beef.

Whole beef: About 16 to 21 cubic feet is recommended.

Half beef: About 8 to 11 cubic feet is recommended.

Quarter beef: About 4 to 6 cubic feet is recommended.

Whether you use an upright freezer or a chest freezer, they will both do the job just fine. Some people prefer a chest freezer to store heavier cuts of meat for longer, while others prefer the easier organization of an upright freezer.
